Geisha Davis’s Humpty Dumpty

Many of us will remember the unforgettable performance given by the talented Geisha Davis on Britain’s Got Talent during the 2012 auditions. Geisha Davis’s extraordinary adaptation of the popular children’s rhyme “Humpty Dumpty” was undeniably mesmerising, despite the constant sound of the buzzer being pressed by overzealous judges.

A seasoned performer, Geisha’s shows can be traced to the Houses of Parliament, Self.Styled, the BBE awards, and reality TV shows on the BBC, ITV, and SKY. The beautiful artist is an inspired designer whose speciality is live performance. The costumes are her own creation as is the choreography of her shows.

What is undeniable, is the utter originality of Geisha’s enactments, make up and costume. The adapted lyrics of the children’s rhyme “Humpty Dumpty” were inspired and sung to poetic perfection. Geisha Davis’s message during her performance on Britain’s Got Talent is clearly subject to interpretation.

In Geisha’s own words, “My art reflects my journey. I use my art as a form of storytelling to share my understanding and perception of the world.”

Geisha Davis ‘Britain’s Got Talent’

Geisha’s virtuosity was originally inspired by Japanese culture, yet a variety of motifs can be detected in her persona. Geisha’s costumes often resonate with the artistic directions of 18th Century Europe’s Baroque, Rococo, and Neoclassicism periods. Neoclassicism and the French Revolution (1789–1799), exemplify the ideas of basic human rights, freethinking and morality as perceived by Voltaire, and Rousseau, to name a few.

The Age of Enlightenment can be detected in Geisha’s almost palpable realism, which oozes and is reminiscent of the French Revolution, a time of administrative and drastic social change.

Geisha Davis is a gifted genius living in a world before (or after) her time, often challenged by critics that do not have the foresight or the intellect to see her brilliance. Geisha should be consoled by the knowledge that ‘all publicity is good publicity’, coupled with the understanding that her rise to unparalleled fame would have been greatly expedited had she been born and raised in the appropriate circles.
